  1. U.S. seeks spillway gate rehab at Oregon's Blue River Dam

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks bids to rehabilitate spillway gates at the Corps' Blue River Dam on the Blue River, a tributary to the McKenzie River in Oregon. Bids are due July 30. The Corps' Portland District took bids in 2011 for sampling and abatement of asbestos and lead at 21 Corps projects include Blue River, a flood control and water storage structure that has been studied for private development of hydropower. (HydroWorld 2/4/11) In a solicitation set aside for small businesses, the Corps seeks bids to rehabilitate spillway gates to restore integrity and reliability in accordance with current codes, design criteria and standards. The work, valued at $1 million to $5 million, includes design and construction for gate structural, electrical, controls, mechanical, protective coating system, and related appurtenances. A solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov , by entering Solicitation No. W9127N15R0022 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box.
