The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has announced a US$110 million loan to help finance a transmission line that will "help unlock the untapped hydropower potential of Central Asia."

WavePOD MHK prototype receives US$3.1 million in new funding

According to a press release from Aquamarine Power, the marine hydrokinetic (MHK) Wave Power Offtake Device (WavePOD) 10th-scale prototype, a project run jointly by Aquamarine Power, Bosch Rexroth and Carnegie Wave Energy, has received US$3.1 million in new funding.

Alstom Hydro China (AHC) was awarded a contract worth about US$78 million by China National Electric Engineering Co., Ltd. to provide electro-mechanical equipment and technical services for the US$1.3 billion 700-MW Zungeru hydroelectric project on the middle and upper reaches of the Kaduna River near Zungeru, Niger, Nigeria.
