    SHANGHAI, April 4, SinoCast -- Sichuan Minjiang Hydropower Co., Ltd. (SZSE: 600131) posted operating revenue of CNY 772 million for 2013, down 4.13% from a year ago. Net loss attributable to shareholders was CNY 162 million, compared to net profit of about CNY 70.63 million. Basic EPS was CNY negative 0.32.

    The World Bank Group's Board of Directors today approved US$ 526.5 million in grant and credit financing for the Central Asia South Asia Electricity Transmission and Trade Project (CASA-1000) for four countries: Afghanistan, Kyrgyz Republic, Pakistan, and Tajikistan. CASA-1000 will build more than 1,200 kilometers of electricity transmission lines and associated sub-stations to transmit excess summer hydropower energy from existing power generation stations in Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic to Pakistan and Afghanistan. The project will finance the engineering design, construction, and commissioning of transmission lines and three new converter stations. The power generation stations that provide the energy to be traded over CASA-1000, including Toktogul in Kyrgyz Republic and Nurek in Tajikistan, are already in place - and in Tajikistan currently "spill" or waste the hydropower energy during summer months.

    Dasu hydropower project: phase-1 cost slashed on strong PKR, other factors

    The cost of Dasu Hydropower Project, phase-1 has been slashed by about Rs 28 billion from Rs 514.473 billion to Rs 486.093 billion due to rupee appreciation and inclusion of land price, reveal official documents. Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) headed by Finance Minister, Senator Ishaq Dar, in its meeting on March 28, 2014 approved the phase-1 of this project being funded by the World Bank.

    The project is located in District Upper Kohistan of Province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The proposed project envisages the construction of stage-I (2160 MW) at Dasu and includes acquisition of land including resettlement, construction of offices, colonies, project access road and pre-construction activities. According to documents, it was stated that the total rationalised cost of the stage-I of project is Rs 486.0933 billion with FEC at Rs 218.5475 billion. The PSDP allocation (2013-14) for the project was Rs 1.745billion and the completion period of the stage-I of the project was 41/2 years.
