Canada developer certifies commercial operation of 195-MW Forrest Kerr hydro project

Canada's AltaGas Ltd. announced its 195-MW Forrest Kerr hydropower project in British Columbia completed a 72-hour testing period required to achieve commercial operation under its electricity purchase agreement with power purchaser BC Hydro.

Reversible PTFE thrust bearing commissioned at OPG plant, a first in North America

This month, Ontario Power Generation (OPG) commissioned the first successfully reversible polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) thrust bearing in North America at the 175-MW Sir Adam Beck Pump Storage Generating Station, on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls, according to OPG officials.
