CDA 2015 annual conference theme is “Dams for the People”

The Canadian Dam Association (CDA) is seeking abstracts of technical papers in order to consider the papers for presentation at its 2015 annual conference, which is themed, “Dams for the People.” The conference is scheduled at the Delta Meadowvale Hotel & Conference Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, on Oct. 3-8.

Study concludes hydroelectric pumped-storage development should expand in Germany

On Feb. 13, at Voith Hydro’s headquarters in Heidenheim, in the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany, company officials met with Roderich Kiesewetter to discuss findings from a study it commissioned on the priority of expanding pumped-storage development. Kiesewetter, a member of the German Bundestag (parliament), visited the Brunnenmühle research and development center at Heidenheim -- Voith’s main hydro division -- to learn about “utilizing regional know-how for the expansion of pumped-storage power plants."
