UK Environment Agency report identifies untapped hydropower potential (Mar 8, 2010)

Thousands of small-scale hydroelectric projects could power 850,000 homes and produce 1.5 percent of the UK's electricity needs, according to a recent UK Environment Agency study.

Stimulus funds go toward fish ladder construction in California, Massachusetts (Feb 24, 2010)

The federal government may spend $7.5 million in federal stimulus money to build a new Santa Paula Creek fish ladder for the steelhead trout population after the existing ladder failed to function properly.
The first ladder, constructed less than a decade ago, cost about $1 million.

National park resources benefit from Glen Canyon Dam high-flow experiment, study shows (Feb 15, 2010)

Resources along the Colorado River in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and Grand Canyon National Park generally benefited from a high-flow experiment conducted in March 2008 from Glen Canyon Dam near Page, Ariz., according to research findings released by the U.S. Geological Survey.

Seattle City Light received a $40,000 grant from the Salmon Recovery Funding Board to support salmon and steelhead habitat restoration along the lower Tolt River near Carnation, Wash., the utility reported.
