LITTLE ROCK, Ark., U.S. 1/11/12 (PennWell) -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks bids to fabricate and deliver intake gate roller chains for six penstock headgates at the 142-MW Dardanelle hydroelectric project on the Arkansas River in Arkansas. Bids are due Jan. 18.
The Corps took bids in June for programming and upgrades of the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system at Dardanelle. The Dardanelle project has four generating units that began operation in 1965.
The Corps' Little Rock District now seeks bids to supply components for each gate including 214 rollers, 214 pins, 428 link plates, 428 retaining rings, 856 Teflon washers, and additional components. Shop assembly of the 12 chains is required prior to shipping for installation by the government.
