Comexhidro may build two hydroelectric projects in Mexico

Hydropower developer Comexhidro said it may build two hydroelectric projects with a combined capacity of 57 MW in northern Mexico.

Jacobo Mekler, Comexhidro’s commercial director, said the company is conducting technical, geographical and hydrological studies for the 7-MW La Angostura project and the 50-MW Puebla project.

Meanwhile, the company continues to develop three hydro projects: the 42-MW Veracruz plant, the 14-MW Oaxaca I plant, and the 8-MW Guerrero plant. The company said it expects to be granted water rights from national water authority Conagua by January. Contracts to build all three projects are expected to be signed in February, Comexhidro said.
