SACRAMENTO, Calif., U.S. 1/10/12 (PennWell) -- The Bureau of Reclamation seeks information on firms capable of improving the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system at the power plant of 663-MW Shasta Dam on California's Sacramento River. Responses are due Jan. 19.

The agency now seeks information on firms capable of performing the HVAC work to determine whether to set aside the work for small businesses or issue an unrestricted solicitation.
Reclamation seeks to improve heating and cooling efficiencies of the power plant. Work would include removal of existing condensing units, air handlers, ducting, and associated electrical service for computer and control rooms. A contractor would furnish and install a new water-cooled HVAC system, piping, ducting, and associated electrical components to provide cooling and heating for the computer and security rooms.
The work is expected to cost between $500,000 and $1 million.
