Generadora Pedregalito S.A., a subsidiary of Panama Power Holdings Inc., has signed a contract to construct the 20-MW Pedregalito hydroelectric project on Panama's Chico River.
The US$28.7 million civil works contract was awarded by project developer Hidraulica de Pedregalito S.A., a subsidiary of Grupo Cobra.
Panama Power Holdings announced the agreement in a filing with Panama securities regulator Comision Nacional de Valores.
The project is expected to be completed in 24 months in Boqueron District of Chiriqui Province.
