Power Machines to supply equipment for Venezuela hydro project

Russian equipment supplier Power Machines was awarded a US$7.3 million contract to provide five hydrogenerator stator winding sets for the Macagua 1 hydroelectric plant in Venezuela, Power Machines reported.

Power Machines signed the contract with Argentina’s IMPSA company, which will provide new generators-excluding stator winding sets-for the ongoing project.

Equipment for the Macagua 1 plant will be manufactured at Electrosila, Power Machines’ branch specializing in the production of generator equipment. Procurement for the last set of equipment for the project is scheduled for 2012.

Recently, Power Machines supplied a stator winding set for one of the six Macagua hydrogenerators under the contract with IMPSA in effect at that time.
