Contractors, consultants, and project sponsors are invited to participate in development of privately owned renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in Turkey, including hydropower.

The World Bank approved US$600 million in financing in May for Turkey's Private Sector Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Project. (HydroWorld 6/4/09) The funds include US$420 million in loans to Turkiye Sinai Kalkinma Bankasi (TSKB), a private industrial development bank that is to use the money for credit line financing of renewable energy and energy efficiency sub-projects.

Potential sub-projects are expected to include privately owned hydropower, wind, solar, biomass, geothermal, and other resources. The closing date of the program is December 31, 2014.

Procurement of goods and civil works are to be carried out by sub-project sponsors under World Bank guidelines and oversight of TSKB. Contractors, suppliers, manufacturers, and consultants seeking additional information about the program or about potential sub-project sponsors are invited to contact private firms in the sector or to contact TSKB.
