Renewables tariff study sought by Ghana

The government of Ghana invites expressions of interest from consultants to develop an electricity pricing model for renewable energy development including hydropower. Responses are due August 5.

Ghana received a credit from the World Bank's International Development Association (IDA) for the Ghana Energy Development and Access Project (GEDAP). Ghana previously received IDA money for rehabilitation of the 1,062-MW Akosombo hydro project and other work. (HydroWorld 3/29/10)

GEDAP seeks consultants to develop a methodology to estimate maximum guaranteed prices to ensure adequate return on investment for electricity generated from renewables such as mini-hydropower, wind, solar, biomass, and waste-to-energy resources.

Expressions of interest, in four copies, are due to the address below August 5. For information, contact Project Coordinator, Ghana Energy Development and Access Project (GEDAP), Ministry of Energy, Second Floor, Room 215, Ministries, P.O.
