The chief executive of Voith Hydro, York, Pa., represented the hydropower industry June 17, 2009, at a Green Jobs Leadership Summit sponsored by the Democratic Steering and Outreach Committee.
More than 60 clean energy companies participated in the meeting with Democrat senators to discuss the effect clean energy technology investments have on the economy and how to train workers for clean energy industries.
Sen. Arlen Specter, D-Pa., nominated Voith Hydro Chief Executive Officer E. Mark Garner to attend the summit as the only hydropower company invited to the event in Washington.
“Voith Hydro’s commitment to creating renewable energy solutions makes the company an excellent representative for Pennsylvania at the summit,” Specter said.
