U.S. plans micro-hydro for Yellowstone Park

The U.S. National Park Service plans to seek bids to construct a micro-hydroelectric project in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming.

The service issued a pre-solicitation notice saying the proposed work is valued at between $1 million and $5 million and will be open to both small and large businesses.

NPS said it plans to issue an invitation for bids in February, with bidding in March. A contract would be awarded in April followed by a notice to proceed in May. Completion is expected in 2011.

The pre-solicitation notice is available from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering solicitation No. I157410A040 in the "Keyword/Solicitation #" box.
