Engevix, Hydro Green Energy agree to develop four U.S. hydro projects


WESTMONT, Ill., 11/28/11 (PennWell) -- Engevix Engenharia S.A. and Hydro Green Energy, LLC have signed an agreement to jointly develop at least four new hydropower projects in the U.S., the companies announce.

The agreement will allow each partner to focus on its strengths, saysHydro Green Energy chief executive officer Michael P. Maley. “Given the present scale of our project development activities, we felt it was necessary to bring in a teammate with outstanding hydropower experience,” Maley says. “This relationship will allow us to be among the leaders in the new era of hydropower growth in the U.S. It may also be the launch platform for future international initiatives.”

Engevix, headquartered is Sao Paulo, Brazil, provides engineering studies ,project design and project management in the areas of energy, industry and infrastructure. The company is currently involved in projects in more than 15 countries.

Hydro Green Energy has focused on developing new hydropower at existing, non-powered dams. The company is currently developing nearly 300 MW of hydroelectric power in 14 states. The company is based in Westmont, Ill.
