    Maley named president, CEO of Hydro Green Energy

    Hydro Green Energy LLC appointed Michael P. Maley, P.E., as president and chief executive officer. In addition, Wayne F. Krouse, founder of the company, has been named executive vice president of technology and chairman of the board.

    Before joining HGE, Maley was president and CEO of solar energy company Perpetual Energy Systems. He also served as president and CEO of Alliant Energy Generation. Over 25 years, he has developed more than 10,000 MW of electric power facilities, HGE says.

    HE is a renewable energy company that is developing 34 low-head hydropower projects at existing non-powered dams in Alabama, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, West Virginia and Texas.

    Jacob named executive vice president of Free Flow Power

    Free Flow Power Corp. has named Paul Denison Jacob executive vice president of marketing and trading.

    In this position, Jacob will focus on developing the company’s role and offerings in power markets. The company acquires, improves and manages existing hydro facilities, develops new hydro at existing dams and develops hydrokinetic generation in rivers.

    Before joining Free Flow Power, Jacob was president of Edison Mission Marketing and Trading, a subsidiary of independent power producer Edison Mission Energy.

    Free Flow Power is developing a pipeline of more than 100 projects representing potential capacity of 1,500 MW in the U.S. These include five hydrokinetic projects on the Mississippi River with a total capacity of 119 MW. In June 2010, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the U.S. Coast Guard signed a letter of understanding to cooperate on licensing of these projects.

    GEI Consultants names three new vice presidents

    Errol S. Kitt, Timothy J. Olean and Dr. Robert W. Gensemer have been named vice presidents at GEI Consultants Inc.

    Kitt, branch manager and environmental practice leader, focuses on managing and directing environmental assessment, investigation and remediation programs for clients on Long Island and in the metropolitan New York area. This work involves remedial investigations, feasibility studies, groundwater and hydrogeologic investigations, environmental site assessments, regulatory compliance and remedial measures. He is located in the Huntington Station, Long Island office.

    Olean, branch manager and construction services manager, has experience in program construction and project management, subcontractor management and cost control for large-scale remediation construction projects. He has more than 21 years of practice in remediation, construction and operations. Olean is located in the Providence, R.I. office

    Gensemer, senior ecological practice leader and eco-toxicologist, manages projects involving the development of site-specific water quality standards, use classification modifications, development of new water criteria and aquatic ecological risk assessments. He is responsible for collaborating with GEI’s aquatic biology laboratory in matters related to whole effluent toxicity and specialty toxicity testing and low-level nutrient chemistry. Gensemer works from the Colorado and Oregon offices.

    GEI is a geotechnical, environmental, water resources, and ecological science and engineering firm.

    Parisi joins Kisters team

    Max Parisi

    Massimiliano (Max) Parisi has joined Kisters North America’s BelVis Solutions team.

    Parisi will help the team focus on expanding Kisters’ North American client base for its Energy Data Management solutions. He will be responsible for BelVis product support and project implementation, as well as supporting sales and marketing efforts.

    Before joining Kisters, Parisi worked on BelVis implementation with a leading European energy consulting firm.

    The BelVis Energy Suite provides management tools for the entire energy value stream, including generators and generation management.

    Kisters offers utilities and industry a suite of software for recording, archiving, analyzing and evaluating energy and mass flow, as well as to control and monitor power grids.

    McGinn appointed president of ACORE

    Dennis V. McGinn is president of the American Council on Renewable Energy.

    McGinn is engaged in efforts at the national level to highlight the link between energy, climate and national security, ACORE says. His priorities with ACORE include reaching out to members and partner organizations to ensure a sharp focus and match ACORE’s priorities and programs. He plans to expand and improve on ACORE’s conferences, research and webinars.

    Prior to this, McGinn served 35 years with the U.S. Navy. He was deputy chief of naval operations for warfare requirements and programs, commander of the U.S. third fleet and corporate officer of the Battelle Memorial Institute’s energy, transportation and environment division.

    In addition, Dan Reicher is chairman of ACORE’s board of directors. Reicher is director of Stanford University’s Steyer-Taylor Center for Energy Policy and Finance. Formerly, he was the Department of Energy’s assistant secretary for energy efficiency and renewable energy. John Geesman, co-chair of the board, has stepped down.

    ACORE is a membership-based organization dedicated to advancing renewable energy in the U.S. through policy, finance and education.
