Corps of Engineers awards anodes contract for McNary hydropower plant rehab project

McNary Hydropower Project

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a US$20,682 contract to B&H International to supply 380 anodes for main unit intake gates that the 980-MW McNary hydropower plant.

The Corps' Walla Walla District sought bids for the supply award this past December, saying the anodes will be used in a galvanic cathodic protection system during McNary's large capital rehabilitation program.

B&H International's anodes will accommodate 10 intake gates.

The Corps has also recently sought bids for thrust bearing heat exchanger replacement plates, spare draft tube stoplogs and vertical barrier screen mesh panels for the rehabilitation project.

The McNary project is located on the Columbia River.
