Hydro turbine manufacturer Turab celebrated an expansion to its headquarters with a number of guests from around the globe, the Swedish company reported.
The expansion represents an investment of about US$2.37 million in land, building and cranes, with an additional $1.2 million spent on machinery, adding 1,300 square meters of additional workshop space and 243 square meters of offices.
Speaking at the event was turbine designer Herman A. Lindquist, who played a pivotal role in Turab's development.
A 1978 license agreement with Lindquist allowed Turab to add turbine manufacturing capabilities to its service, repair and rehabilitation operations.
"His research and long experience has been hugely helpful to us through the years," Turab CEO Christer Abrahamsson said.
