Knight Construction wins contract for Prosser Creek Dam gate rehabilitations

Prosser Creek Dam

Knight Construction & Supply Inc. has won a contract worth US$2.1 million from the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation to refurbish gates at Prosser Creek Dam in California.

Reclamation last sought bids for the work in April.

Per the solicitation, Knight Construction & Supply will refurbish high pressure gate seats and regulating gates. The company will remove, refurbish and replace two guard gates and two control gates; fabricate new self-lubricating composite high-pressure gate leaf seats, stainless steel high-pressure gate body seats, stainless steel high-pressure gate leaf lip reconfiguration bars; and install new hoist shutoff and bypass valves.

Prosser Creek Dam was built in 1962 and is located just above Prosser Creek's confluence with the Truckee River. The water storage structure is part of Reclamation's Washoe Project, which also includes Marble Bluff Dam and 3.65-MW Stampede Dam. (2)
