Webcast offers insight into Brazil's hydroelectric power market

HydroVision Brasil 2013

The organizers of HydroVision Brasil have announced an exciting opportunityfor all members of the hydroelectric power industry in anticipation of this year's conference and exhibition.

Called "How to Break Into the Brazilian Market", this special, free webcast will give participants an insight into best practices for doing business and investing in Brazil.

The webcast will feature an expert from the U.S. Department of Commerce's International Trade Administration office in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and will explore many of the factors that have made the country attractive for hydro power development.

According to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, Brazil is projected as being the fifth-most attractive country for foreign direct investments through 2014. The country is also consistently the largest recipient of direct foreign funding in Latin America, receiving nearly half of South America's incoming investments.

Investment is also being spurred government's announcement to scrap a 6% tax rate on foreign financiers who buy bonds in the Brazilian market, coupled with a decision by President Dilma Rousseff to eliminate a tax on loans for the purchase, production and leasing of capital goods.

Net foreign direct investments amounted to US$377 billion after subtracting depreciation and capital repatriation between the years of 2006 and 2011, with the United States, Spain and Belgium holding the largest shares of accumulated foreign-capital stock.

The free "How to Break Into the Brazilian Market" webcast takes place July 11, 2013, at 10 a.m. CDT, and all who watch will be given a special code valid for 20% off an individual full or Total Access Conference registration for the event.

Advance registration for the webcast is required and available online here.
