Permitting slowing power auction for Brazil's Sao Manoel hydroelectric project

Plans to auction power from the 700-MW Sao Manoel hydroelectric project by the end of 2013 might be delayed due to delays in the plant's environmental processing, HydroWorld.com has learned.

Sao Manoel, located along the Teles Pires River in Brazil's Mato Grosso state, was to have been the largest hydropower plant being offered for bidding in 2013 by state power regulator Agencia Nacional de Energia Eletricqa (ANEEL).
