Members of the hydropower industry are hoping to use the European Union's upcoming Sustainable Energy Week to draw attention to hydroelectric policy and regulation.
Banding together are the European Small Hydropower Association (ESHA), Hydro Equipment Association (HEA) and Eurelectric, who will be hosting a meeting called "Hydropower: Investing in a Sustainable Future" on June 25 in Brussels.
Two panel discussions will focus on topics such as the new European energy market, its effect on energy prices, and investments in hydropower technology.
HEA, which represents manufacturers of electromechanical components in both conventional and pumped-storage hydro projects, will also unveil what it is calling a "Technology Roadmap". HEA said it has been developing the roadmap after collecting information from stakeholders around the industry for more than five months.
Registration for the event is free, though space is limited and must be completed before June 19. For more information, visit the EU's website here.
