Hydro Research Foundation announces 2013 Hydro Fellowship recipients

The Hydro Research Foundation has announced this year's recipients of Hydro Fellowship awards.

Each fellowship is worth between US$44,000 and $66,000, and can be used over a one to one-and-a-half year period of study.

This year's Hydro Fellows -- along with their universities and research topics -- are:

All 35 Fellows currently in the Hydro Research Foundation's program will be attending HydroVision International 2013 in Denver, Colo., in July.

The Fellows will be presenting their work during a special HydroVision International session that takes place Tuesday, July 23, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The session is free, though those interested in attending are asked to register via the link here.

Since its inception, the Hydro Fellows program has funded 43 students at 23 universities. This year's fellowships are made possible by a $3.7 million five-year grant from the U.S. Department of Energy's Wind and Water Power Program.

Other program partners include the Avista Foundation, Knight Piesold and Co., the PennWell Corporation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Hydroelectric Design Center and Weir American Hydro.
