Corps awards contract for geotechnical survey work at Lower Granite Dam

Lower Granite Dam

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a contract worth US$92,000 to Haz-Tech Drilling Inc. to perform geotechnical survey services at the 810-MW Lower Granite Dam in Washington.

The Corps's Walla Walla District most recently solicited bids for the work in April, which includes a minimum of 20 exploration borings with an option to advance 15 additional borings. No laboratory work is to be conducted.

The Lower Granite hydroelectric project is located on the Snake River between Washington's Whitman and Garfield counties.

Power produced by the plant is sold to the Bonneville Power Administration.
