Corps awards contract for McNary fish screens

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a contract to Yanke Machine Shop to supply vertical barrier screen mesh panels for fish screens at the 980-MW McNary hydroelectric project.

The Corps' Walla Walla District last solicited bids for the project in March.

The US$70,065 contract calls for Yanke Machine Shop to supply 81 mesh panels for 27 vertical barrier screens. The panels are described as being 6x6 mesh size, 18 feet 2 inches long by 6 feet wide of monofilament polyethylene terephthalate.

HydroWorld.com reported in March that the Corps was also seeking bids to refurbish upper bearing bracket arms at McNary.
