Voith Hydro has signed a US$12.9 million deal with Norwegian power provider Statkraft to modernize six turbines at four hydroelectric projects.

As per the contract, Voith Hydro will provide new Francis turbines for the Oevre Roessaaga, Nedre Roessaaga, Baatsvatn and Vessingfoss hydropower plants, increasing their installed capacity by about 10%.

"The order in Norway is an important success for Voith," said company president and CEO Roland Munch.

Statkraft is the largest energy supplier in Norway with a hydroelectric portfolio that includes more than 140 plants.
