Hydropower project parts manufacturer Power Machines OJSC has completed equipment for the first unit of Argentina's Punta Negra hydroelectric plant.
Power Machines signed a contract to provide the equipment in July 2011, which includes two 32 MW hydro turbines, pre-turbine gate valves, governing equipment and two generators completed with excitation systems.
Punta Negra will be located on the San Juan River and is being developed in conjunction with the Argentinian UTE Consortium, which includes Techint and Panedile.
The group said Punta Negra should be in operation by the end of 2015.
Power produced by the US$340 million hydropower plant will be sold to electricity market manager Compania Administradora del Mercado Mayorista Electrico Sociedad Anonima (CAMMESA).
