    Brookfield Renewable

Brookfield Renewable Energy Partners L.P. has completed its acquisition of 19 hydropower projects and eight upstream storage reservoirs from a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources, LLC.

The lot -- comprised of facilities primarily located on the Kennebec, Androscoggin and Saco rivers in Maine and New Hampshire -- is valued at about US$760 million and will add 351 MW of hydroelectric power to Brookfield Renewable's portfolio.

Brookfield Renewable (TSX: BEP.UN) said it now owns nearly 1,300 MW of installed hydropower capacity in New England markets.

HydroWorld.com reported that Brookfield Renewable and NextEra Energy had agreed to the deal in December 2012.
