Power produced by hydroelectric plants again accounts for the largest portion of the Brazil's total installed capacity, according to a report from Agencia Nacional de Energia Eletrica (ANEEL).
Brazil's overall generation capacity increase 3.5% to 121 GW over the past year, ANEEL said -- 68.5% of which is produced by large and small hydropower plants.
ANEEL reports said large hydroelectric startups contributed 79.7 GW of new capacity, with an additional 4.3 GW coming from micro hydro sources. Meanwhile, wind farms added 1.8 GW and thermoelectric plants added 32.9 GW.
