The Belarusian Energy Ministry is considering an investment proposal that would help pay for the 20-MW Nemnovo hydroelectric plant, HydroWorld.com has learned.

According to state news service Belarusian Telegraph Agency, and unnamed Turkish company could invest more than US$100 million into the Nemnovo hydropower project should the country's legislature approve a draft investment contract.

The new hydro facility, which would be constructed on Belarus' Neman River, is one of several proposed projects. Also included in the country's plans are new hydroelectric plants in Orsha, Shklov, Mogilev and Rechitsa along the Dnieper River
