Zublin Spezial Tiefbau GmbH has won a contract worth US$11.5 million to control seepage beneath the 315-MW Visegrad hydropower plant in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Utility company Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske a.d. Trebinje most recently solicited bids for the work in June.
As per the contract, Zublin will construct an access route and temporary construction site near Visegrad Dam. In addition, the company will inject inert materials and seal a sinkhole, drill and inject grout on the dam site, and supply equipment and construct structures for monitoring during rehabilitation.
The work is expected to take 18 months.
