  • Corps awards contract for fish, infrastructure work at 40-MW Foster hydropower plant

Natt McDougall Co. has been awarded a contract worth US$18.6 million to build a fish trap and haul facility at 40-MW Foster Dam on the South Santiam River in Oregon.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Portland District, which last sought bids for the work in June, says the project is to collect, hold, transport, and spawn adult salmon and steelhead.

Work will also include modifications and connections to existing infrastructure and construction of new infrastructure.

Foster Dam is an embankment-type earthfill dam that was built in the mid-1960s.
