Reclamation awards contract for work at Idaho's Palisades hydroelectric facility

BOISE, Idaho 7/3/12 (PennWell) -- D.H. Ortega Construction LLC has been awarded a US$408,945 contract by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation for repairs at the 176.564-MW Palisades hydropower plant in Idaho.

The work includes repairs to the stilling basin concrete and the replacement and construction of an oil containment system.

Reclamation last solicited bids for the project in May, after awarding a contract worth $25 million to Andritz for the rehabilitation of four turbines in April 2011.
