  • Hydropower equipment manufacturer joins other Dutch companies to promote renewable technologies

    07/02/2012

DEN OEVER, The Netherlands 7/2/12 (PennWell) -- Hydroelectric turbine manufacturer Tocardo International has joined the Dutch government and six other companies as a member of the "Orange Goes Green" initiative.

The members -- all entities specializing in renewable energies and other "green" technologies -- formed the platform to increase their visibility primarily in North America.

"There are good opportunities for Dutch providers of green technology in the U.S. and Canada as they are among the world's largest investors in renewable energy," says Tocardo Chief Executive Officer Hans van Breugel.

The agreement is the first signed under the Netherlands' Partners for International Business (PIB) program, which was launched in 2011 to promote new public-private partnerships.

Also included are Rabobank, Deerns, Ecofys, Priva, IF Technology, Aqualiner, and the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation.

HydroWorld.com reported earlier this month that Tocardo closed a deal with Glow Tech Solutions of Nepal to supply 25 of its generating units.
