  • Feasibility studies for Serbia's Brodarevo hydropower projects complete

    06/21/2012

BRODAREVO, Serbia 6/22/12 (PennWell) -- Feasibility studies for Reservoir Capital Corporation's Brodarevo 1 and Brodarevo 2 hydroelectric power plants are complete, HydroWorld.com has learned.

The studies were conducted by independent consultant Energoprojekt Hidroinzenjering Co. Ltd. (EHC) after the hydropower projects were approved by the Serbian government in May. EHC also provided geotechnical work for the project in February.

At that time, the total combined generating capacity of the plants was expected to be 58.4 MW, although that has increased to 59.1 MW.

The total cost of the project is now estimated at about US$185 million, which also includes the construction of new roads and tunnels between the towns of Prijepolje and Bijelo Polje.

Rervoir Capital says the construction time for Brodarevo 1 is four years, and Brodarevo 2 is three years.
