PORTLAND, Maine 5/11/12 (PennWell) -- Juliusz Kirejczyk has joined HDR as a senior consultant in the hydropower services group. Before joining HDR he was a turbine specialist with Toshiba International Corp.
Kirejczyk has more than 37 years of experience in the hydropower industry, working for manufacturers of hydraulic turbines and pump turbines. He has conducted numerous feasibility and design studies, turbine performance assessments, and performance and design testing. He has led development of environmentally friendly turbine and pump turbine designs, and been active in new technology for variable speed pump turbines.
HDR provides services ranging from feasibility studies to project engineering and modernizing existing hydro facilities. In the past 10 years, HDR has led or provided technical support for hydropower licensings/relicensings for more than 100 facilities in 20 states. HDR also works heavily in pumped storage.
