WASHINGTON, D.C. 3/28/12 (PennWell) -- The Bureau of Reclamation has named Kerry McCalman as its Senior Advisor for Hydropower and Electric Reliability Compliance Officer.

McCalman will serve as a liaison on intergovernmental initiatives associated with hydropower delivery, as well as being responsible for Reclamation's overall compliance with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's Mandatory Bulk Electric System Reliability Standards.

He will also coordinate the implementation of corporate partnership efforts involving Reclamation's power functions and activities in collaboration with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Bonneville Power Administration, Western Area Power Administration and Tennessee Valley Authority.

McCalman has most recently served as manager of the Power Resources Office in Denver after stints in operations and maintenance management positions in Idaho, Colorado, Montana, Utah and Oklahoma.

Reclamation says McCalman has degrees in engineering physics and mathematics from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla.
