  • COH Inc. wins contract for gantry crane at 810-MW Little Goose powerhouse

    WALLA WALLA, Wash. 3/16/12 (PennWell) -- COH Inc. has been awarded a contract worth US$4.93 million by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for gantry crane work at the Little Goose hydroelectric plant.

    The Corps last solicited bids for work at the 810-MW hydropower facility in December 2011. (1)

    As per the contract, COH Inc. is to provide a new 130-ton intake gantry crane for the Little Goose Dam powerhouse intake and spillway deck.

    The crane is to run on the facility's existing rails and will provide about 179 feet of total lift and stand about 72 feet above the embedded track.

    The Little Goose plant is on the Snake River in Washington and will also undergo circuit breaker reconditioning soon.
