Guadeloupe awards structural monitoring contract for Dumanoir Dam

BASSE-TERRE, Guadeloupe 10/27/11 (PennWell) -- The government of Guadeloupe has awarded a contract to a French firm for auscultation monitoring of Dumanoir Dam, in the commune of Capesterre Belle Eau in Guadeloupe.

The eastern Caribbean island group, an overseas department of France, took bids for the work in March. (HydroWorld 3/3/11)

Conseil General de la Guadeloupe awarded a 214,298 euro (US$297,917) contract to Anteagroup to perform monitoring of Dumanoir Dam through 2014. It is to utilize auscultation equipment already in place at the water supply project including piezometers, flow meters, pressure sensors, and a weather station.

Anteagroup, of Abymes, France, was one of two bidders for the work.

Guadeloupe awarded contracts in 2008 to the French-based unit of Stucky of Switzerland to perform failure analyses of Dumanoir and of Moreau Dam in the commune of Goyave. (HydroWorld 3/10/08)
