The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a $2.7 million contract to BCI Construction to replace switchgear and other electrical equipment at the 96-MW Greers Ferry and 112-MW Beaver hydroelectric projects in Arkansas.

The Corps' Little Rock District originally expected to issue the solicitation in April.

The Corps seeks to replace switchgear, switchboard and associated lighting contactors, control cabinets, motor centers, associated controls, feeders and conduits at Greers Ferry on the Little Red River and Beaver on the White River.
