Illinois firm to supply tainter gate hardware for U.S. Millwood Dam

LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas, U.S. 9/14/11 (PennWell) -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a contract to BCI Construction USA Inc. to supply tainter gate hardware at Millwood Dam on the Little River in Arkansas.

The Corps' Little Rock District took bids for the equipment in July. (HydroWorld 7/19/11) Built in 1966, Millwood Dam provides flood control, water supply, recreation, and fish and wildlife improvement.

Under the $729,105 contract, BCI, of Belleville, Ill., is to replace tainter gate hoisting cable U-bolt connections with new hitchblock assemblies for 10 tainter gates.
