Peruvian generator Enersur announced it has signed the electromechanical equipment supply and installation contract for the 114-MW Quitaracsa I hydropower project.
The deal was signed with Rainpower and STE Energy, Enersur said in a filing to securities regulator Conasev.
The generator recently reported the signing of the project's civil works contract with Constructora JME, Business News Americas reported.
The hydro project will be built in the Yuracmarca district of Huaylas province, in Ancash region, reports indicate.
Enersur's portfolio also includes the ChilcaUno combined cycle project in Lima region, which involves increasing capacity by 270 MW to roughly 800 MW.
In other news, IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, will provide long-term financing of up to US$250 million to help build the 168-MW Cheves hydropower project in Peru, developer SN Power has announced.
The Cheves hydro project is located on the Huaura River, 250 kilometers north of Lima.
