  • RusHydro, Voith Hydro sign equipment deal for hydropower plants

    09/29/2010

Russia's largest power producer RusHydro and Voith Hydro have signed a memorandum of cooperation to upgrade and re-equip RusHydro's hydropower plants, news agencies reported.

The document provides for the joint consideration of technical and commercial terms of a long-term contract to supply equipment for RusHydro's generating facilities. Within 30 days of signing of the agreement, the companies plan to establish a working group and to appoint Russian and Austrian coordinators to monitor the agreement, reports indicate.

Their cooperation program envisages almost complete upgrading of the Volga-Kama and Caucasian hydropower plants, wire services reported.

In other news, Voith Hydro Norway and Glomma Kraftproduksjon AS recently signed a contract for the supply and installation of six new units for the Raanaasfoss hydropower project. The contract is the largest contract ever for Voith Hydro in Norway, with a total value of about 53 million euros (US$68.66 million).
