Regulators authorize test operations at Goiandira hydropower plant in Brazil

Brazilian utility sector regulator Aneel has authorized test operations at the 27-MW Goiandira small hydropower plant, wire services reported.

The hydropower plant, owned by local power firm Goias Sul Geracao de Energia, is located in the center-western state of Goias. The plant has two 13.5-MW turbines, reports indicate.

The company will have 60 days to submit test results to Aneel.

In other news, Brazil-based infrastructure and energy services company Triunfo has launched test operations at the second generation unit at its 116-MW Salto hydropower plant, located in Goias.
