Nizhnyaya Bureya hydro project in Russia begins construction

Construction has begun on Russia's Nizhnyaya Bureya hydropower plant, news services reported. The RusHydro hydropower plant will have four generating units with the total power output of 320 MW.

The hydro plant is situated several kilometers away from the highway Amur in the Amur Region. The plant will be built 90 kilometers away from the Bureya hydro plant down the Amur stream, wire services reported.

In other news, twenty-four small hydropower plants could be built in Russia's Chelyabinsk Region by 2020, the press office of the regional economic development ministry reported.
