Norcan Hydraulic Turbine wins Madawaska hydro plant equipment contract

Norcan Hydraulic Turbine Inc., in partnership with Zhejiang Jinlun Electromechanic Co. Ltd., has been awarded a 4.2 MW water-to-wire supply contract by Edmundston Energy for the Madawaska Hydrodam Modernization project in Emundston. The contract announcement was made during HydroVision International 2010 in Charlotte, N.C.

The turbine design will be provided by Norcan, and the equipment will be manufactured by Zhejiang Jinlun. Norcan has also been contracted to install and commission the generating equipment, to be completed in 2011.

Engineering and construction management on the project for Edmundston Energy is by Hatch.
