  • Hydroelectric power project commissioned in Himachal Pradesh

    Allain Duhangan Hydro Project Limited (ADHPL) has announced the commissioning of the first phase of a 192-MW hydropower project at Manali in Himachal Pradesh, regional media reported.

    ADHPL is a subsidiary of Malana Power Company Limited (MPCL), a joint venture between Bhilwara Energy Limited (BEL) and Norway's SN Power. The new run-of-river hydro project is located on the Allain and Duhangan rivers.

    In other news, Indian power generator Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam, Ltd. plans to increase its power capacity from 1,500 megawatts to 6,500 megawatts over the next five years through investments in new hydropower projects, hydro project upgrades and other renewable energy projects.

    SJVN is a joint venture entity between the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
