  • Mavel provides turbines for hydro project in Poland

    Mavel, a.s. announced the commissioning of the 1.7-MW Dobrzen hydroelectric plant, for which Mavel provided two turbines.

    The project is located on the Odra River in the town of Dobrzen Wielki, Poland.

    Mavel provided two Kaplan KP3200K3 double regulated horizontal PIT turbines for the project, which is owned by PGE Energia Odnawialna S.A. Warszawa (formerly ESP SA Warszawa).

    Each of the generating units has 850 KW of installed power.

    Mavel also supplied generators, gearboxes, hydraulic units, lubrication and cooling systems, electrical and control systems, trash racks and cleaning machines, the company reported.

    A performance test was successfully completed in 2009. Measuring is in compliance with contractual conditions, Mavel reported.

    Mavel is a Czech Republic-based manufacturing and engineering company focusing on the production of turbines for hydropower plants from 25 KW to more than 25 MW. Over the past fifteen years, the company and its subsidiary CKD TurboTechnics, s.r.o. have installed almost 350 turbines at more about 250 sites around the world.
