  • Vietnam firm wins surge tank contract for 220-MW Dak My 4

    04/22/2009
Vietnam hydro project builder Cavico Corp. announced it signed an additional contract in March to build portions of the 220-MW Dak My 4 hydroelectric project.

Cavico said last year its Cavico Power JSC unit received an US$11 million contract to build a headrace tunnel and surge tank for Dak My 4 (or Dak Mi 4). (HNN 1/23/08)

Cavico said the current US$3 million contract is for a surge tank, sub-tunnel, and two headrace tunnels. Cavico Power also is to perform that work.

Cavico said it received the contract from project owner Industrial and Urban Development Corp. (IDICO), which is developing Dak My 4 on Vu Gia-Thu Bon River in Vietnam's Quang Nam Province. Cavico's work on the US$252 million project is to be completed in September 2010.

Vietnam President Nguyen Minh Triet took part in river damming ceremonies in January 2008 for Dak My 4. (HNN 1/29/08)
